Course Title: Navigating the Workplace as a Neurodivergent Professional

Description:

Stepping from education into the workplace is often described as the “next step”—but for many neurodivergent individuals, it can feel like stepping into an entirely different world.

A world with unwritten rules.
Unspoken expectations.
And systems that don’t always explain themselves.

This course is designed to bridge that gap.

Rather than expecting you to “figure it out as you go,” this programme makes the hidden parts of working life visible—giving you the tools, language, and confidence to navigate the workplace in a way that works for you, not against you.

Across six carefully structured modules, you’ll move from understanding how workplaces function, through to building practical skills, advocating for your needs, and creating a sustainable way of working.

What You’ll Learn

Module 1: Understanding Neurodiversity

Build a foundation of self-awareness by exploring how neurodivergence shows up in the workplace. Understand your strengths, challenges, and the impact of different environments on how you think, process, and perform.

Module 2: The Workplace & Culture

Decode the “hidden curriculum” of work. Learn how workplace culture really operates—from communication norms to social expectations—and how to navigate the unwritten rules with confidence.

Module 3: The Job Search Journey

Gain clarity and confidence in moving from applications to interviews. Learn how to understand job descriptions, present your strengths effectively, and prepare for interviews in a way that feels authentic and manageable.

Module 4: Building Your Career

Shift from surviving your first role to growing within it. Understand what to expect in your first year, how to develop professionally, and how to take ownership of your role over time.

Module 5: Self-Advocacy, Disclosure & Your Rights

Learn how to communicate your needs clearly and professionally. Explore your options around disclosure, understand your legal rights under the Equality Act, and discover how to access support such as reasonable adjustments and Access to Work.

Module 6: Workplace Skills & Self-Management

Develop the practical tools that make work sustainable. From executive functioning and organisation, to communication, feedback, and energy management—you’ll learn how to manage your workload, protect your wellbeing, and prevent burnout.
